| Description. | A specially developed penetrating Stabilising Primer. |
| Primarily used to seal porous masonry substrates and to | |
| provide a sound base on dusty or friable areas. The | |
| prepared surface once dry can then be directly painted with | |
| masonry paints or other surface coatings. | |
| Properties. | Based on a modified hydrocarbon resin. The solution of |
| this resin having a flash point greater than 35 ° C. | |
| Preparation. | Great attention should be paid to prepara tion, as this is the |
| single most important step in the painting sequence. | |
| Prior to treatment, ensure that all traces of grease, dust, oil, | |
| grit etc are completely removed. It is important to remove | |
| as much as possible of loose and flaking material from the | |
| surface by wire brushing, grit blasting or other techniques. | |
| The surface must be dry and clean before treating with | |
| stabilising primer. Once the surface has been suitably | |
| prepared, apply one liberal coating of Stabilising Primer | |
| and allow to dry for 24 hours before overpainting. | |
| Exceptionally dry or dusty surfaces may require more than | |
| one coat of Stabilising Primer for best results. Application | |
| in very cold or wet conditions should be avoided. | |
| Coverage. | Approximately 7-9 sq. metres per litre depending on the |
| surface condition. | |
| Application. | Brush or airless spray can be used. |
| Do not thin for brush application. | |
| For airless spray application, thinning is unlikely to be | |
| required. | |
| Spray tip aperture 15 thou (0.38mm) | |
| Spray tip angle 70-80 ° | |
| Minimum working pressure 2000psi. | |
| Do not apply in cold or damp conditions. |
